Successful PTMC / BMV in Rheumatic Heart Disease Severe Mitral Stenosis

A 38-year female from low socioeconomic status came with complaints of breathlessness on exertion (NYHA CLASS IV) diagnosed to have Rheumatic heart disease and severe mitral stenosis. Had undergone successful Percutaneous Balloon Mitral valvulotomy (PTMC /BMV). Pre BMV Mitral Valve area 0.8 -0.9 Sq. cm, Post BMV Mitral Valve Area increased (MVO-1.5-1.6  sq. cm) mitral valve gradient reduced, no increase in mitral regurgitation, and Patient symptoms reduced. She was discharged on 2nd day in stable

condition.
